So, most awaited news for all Mi Band fans comes here. The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 or The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 will soon be available globally. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 is the successor to the Xiaomi Mi Band 4. Mi Band 5 have already released in China on June 18, 2020

In mid-2019, Xiaomi dropped Mi Band 4. It was cheap-fitness tracker band. On Wednesday, Xiaomi announced that Mi Smart Band 4 is the best selling wearable band in the world! The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is now available on pre-order in Europe. Mi Smart Band 5 is carrying forward the legacy of its predecessor. Xiaomi’s latest fitness tracker offers a ton of features. We expect the price to be lower, like predecessors.

What are Xiaomi Mi Band 5 specs and features?

It has an AMOLED display n Mi Smart Band 5. Mi Band display will be slightly bigger than that of Mi Band 4. Mi Band 4 display measured 0.95 inches, whereas Mi Band 5 will measure 1.1 inches. Now onwards, there will be a larger area to display more information. It supports 100% of the P3 color gamut. It comes with a 2.5D tempered glass that protects the screen from bruises and scratches. Improved Sleep Tracking 

With improvised sleep tracking, Xiaomi claims it will identify sleep problems such as rapid eye movement, etc. Based on your sleep data, the band will give your suggestion regarding improvement in your sleep quality. 

Blood Oxygen Tracking

Mi Band 5 received an in-built blood oxygen tracker. This feature wasn’t present in Mi band 4. Tracker will detect your blood oxygen level every second, for 8 hours in a row. The tracker is used for improving user sleep quality.

Remote Camera Shutter

The Mi Band 5 came with a new feature of remote camera control. The band will connect the phone using Bluetooth. Video shooting is not capable, but photo shooting is available especially when you are with your group or alone.

Other features are idle alerts, notifications, call remainders, music control, weather reports, and phone finder, timer, stopwatch, event reminder, stress counter, PAI score, and other minor features that you will encounter in Mi Band 5.

When Mi Band 5 will release in India?

In China, Mi Band 5 have already released. Globally, Mi Band 5 will release on July 15, 2020. Pre-order has started in Europe. So, we expect soon pre-order in India will start too.

What will be the price?

In China, the regular variant, Non-NFC price is 189 yuan(approx. 26 dollars). In contrast, the band with NFC priced 229 yuan(approx. 32.27 dollars). We expect the price in India for the Non-NFC variant will be Rs 2099. On the other hand, the NFC variant will cost Rs 2499.

Final Verdict

Although, as the user of Mi Band from 3 years, it time to upgrade my Mi Band 3. Many features are new, as mentioned in the article. I would recommend upgrading your Mi Band, or if you are new to Mi Band, go for Mi Band 5.
